Lots of fun was had by all as our gracious hosts at the riding school let us ride their horses!

Happy 16th birthday Aiko!

Best of wishes Aiko, just a small footnote about the cake (heh!) the odd little figure on the side is supposed to be 'Batman'... a concession to Aiko, since she insisted on the superhero somewhere on her cake, I (Mia) was in a hurry to finish off the cake and botched the job somewhat, oh well...the cake itself was yummy, although not as pretty as some of the other one's I've made. Aiko made the pinata, it was a striped unicorn...it went from a giraffe to a zebra to a two legged striped unicorn (can't tell from any of the pictures)but we had fun!

Emily's Ballet recital...

After months of honing and practicing Emily did beautifully at the recital!

They danced to the ballet "Urashima Taro" (A popular Japanese folktale about a young man who rescues a turtle and is rewarded for this with a visit to the Palace of the Dragon God under the sea. He stays there for three days and then asks to go back,the princess says she is sorry to see him go, but wishes him well and gives him a mysterious box called tamatebako which she tells him never to open. upon his return to his village, he finds himself 300 years in the future, depressed he opens the box, he is suddenly aged, his beard long and white, and his back bent. From the sea comes the sad, sweet voice of the princess: "I told you not to open that box. In it was your old age."

Our visitation at the 'RehaMall" went very well, all of the old folks were glad to see us and our performance. And the kids had alot of fun interacting with everyone there.
